Our Philosophy
In our fast-paced world, we are all experiencing disconnection – from our sense of self, community, spirituality, and nature. As our society becomes more fragmented, people are increasingly asking: “How can I re-establish my sense of connection, and identify with something larger than myself?”
Heart & Soul Retreats was born from the desire to nurture an alternative way of experiencing life, one that transcends the material world dominated by egoism, loneliness, and disconnect, and establishes an authentic experience underpinned by mindfulness towards the self, each other, and the environment.
“As a long-established yogic ashram, we offer individuals the opportunity to experience what is like to be part of an authentic spiritual yoga community.”
Heart & Soul role models a practical balance between the material and spiritual worlds, providing an inclusive space for people to deepen their experience of spirituality, health, wellbeing, and happiness. Offering wellness getaways all year round, our community facilitates restorative healing, supporting guests to access a higher level of self-awareness and personal alignment, and inspiring them to integrate elements of mindfulness, sustainability, and spiritual practice into their own lives in pursuit of fulfilment.
Heart & Soul operates on the practice of Karma yoga – or voluntary service (Seva) – with people coming together from around Australia to collaborate and create a nurturing and nourishing yogic community.
Our Yoga Study Program
Heart & Soul x Govinda Valley
In collaboration with Govinda Valley Ashram & Yoga School, we have a strong community that supports Heart and Soul Retreats. It is integral for anyone who finds themselves on the yogic path. In community it’s easier to realise ourselves; who we really are and what we are made of. We offer a life of practice, service, and education in blocks of four months.
During your four-month stay, your life will be a balance between service, private time, sharing in community life, and personal growth facilitated through daily yoga, workshops, kirtans, and other programs.
